I use a Lowepro backpack if I'm carrying it far (and to store it in at home). The unusual proportions (for a camera) of a large format folding camera mean that some people use a satchel. I know that others use an aluminium case that stays in the car boot for the camera to be removed from (I saw this on a TalkPhotography meet).

I did use a Lowepro backpack but found it to deep and that its design mad it feel like I was carrying a small house on my back so went on the hunt for a replacement looking for one that was slightly longer and not so deep, I ended up buying a £35 pound one from amazon which takes all the gear I want, it fits well on my back and is very comfortable when loaded it weighs 8-8.5kgs and I find I can comfortably carry it for 2 or more hours. It also opens on the side thats against my back which is great for when its damp ground my back stays dry. Cheaper can sometimes be better.

For my 5x4 outfits, I use a shoulder bag if not going too far; a backpack if doing a long hike. For my 10x8 outfit, it's an internal frame backpack for everything.
