There's something odd about how some images display.

For instance Ian B and Martin H's images always appear twice, a large and small version if logged in, two small if logged out. I've not noticed this with other peoples images.

Today I placed two images in a thread some can't see them yet the attachment location is identical to the last time I posted them. Th software converts images to PNG and there seems to be a slight quality loss.

Ian B, Martin and others (me too if I remember) post a thumbnail as well as a full size image - hence what you are seeing Ian. The forum software will only accept jpeg format images and displays them as the same if memory serves. I have no idea where your PNG is coming from Ian but I'm sure Ian B or Martin will enlighten us. :)

Yes, I fixed that the other day. I noticed the URL to the image started with http:// and it should have been http://www.

Added as a test, this one will be converted by the Forum software.

Strangely it hasn't been converted yet ?

Solved the PNG conversion that happens when you cut & paste an image from image editing software directly into a Post rather than going to the Insert Image button.

However that doesn't solve why the two images disappeared from the thread I linked to above, the last image was inserted the same way, http://lostlabours etc no www.
