multiple (fragmented) exposures

I have found that a shutter speed of 1/4 sec. works for me, as I like the water to not look too milky, but not frozen either. Your perception may vary from mine, so I would experiment. Blakemore describes in his book how he first photographed rocks and water, at Lynch Clough, with a 6x6 camera and Tri X, and used a speed of 1/4 sec. But when he returned to the scene later, he decided to use a 5x4 camera and FP4. This gave a speed of 1 second, so he split it into four separate exposures, to get the look that he wanted in the final print.
