Er, hello

For some reason I've only just found this forum so I thought I would sign up.
I'm Simon from Bristol. I'm 50 years old, so old enough to have used film first time round - I pretty much gave up on film when digital came along, although I did continue to dabble with a bit of Kodak IR.
Back in late 2014 I came across the Kickstarter from Intrepid and thought it might be fun to try a bit of large format - something that had always appealed but been way too expensive back when I was younger - much like owning a Hasselblad. Roll forward to mid 2016 and I actually got the camera, and I've been using it a bit since - pretty much exclusively b&w but I did try some slide film on holiday last year. I swore I wasn't going to get back into developing as I'd never enjoyed it in the past, but I happened to see an advert for a reasonably priced Paterson Orbital, bought it, and now do my own b&w developing - and not minding it one bit. It had a wider impact as I've also got back into using film in 35mm and also 120 - I bought a Hasselblad last year.
I don't have a darkroom - I scan the images on an Epson V700.
I started with a Schneider 90mm Super Angulon lens, which was probably a mistake and a bit wide-angle, and last year I bought a Nikon 180mm. I mainly shoot landscapes (including urban), but want to try some portraits this year, and experiment a bit.
Part of the reason for signing up here is to tap into advice - I fancy trying less "perfect" lenses as my images are always about being *sharp* and I feel the need for a change. Maybe a Petzval-type thing for portraits, perhaps something lo-fi for other experimentation.
Anyway, I've attached a few images so you can see the sort of thing I take.

Welcome. From the look of your pictures, you'll be able to give advice as well as ask for it. Everybody here seems to have something useful to say.

Well thank you for the kind words everyone! I've got a lot more images that are nowhere near as good, especially those taken on Direct Positive Paper!

Simon, welcome . . . good images, and surprisingly well from the Epson V700 - better than those I've been getting from the V600. Particularly like the leak - that's real LF work! And the colour images too are nothing to hide in the darkroom about! Would like to see those positive paper images and hear your comments tho.
