Hardly 'belated' the Gregorian calendar (used by Western churches) has Christmas start on 25th Dec & goes on for 12 days,
The Julian Calendar used by Orthodox churches I believe has Christmas day on January 7th...
Fortunately for our kidneys we don't have to stay Merry for all that time!
