Contact Printing Paper Negatives

When I develop paper negatives which is Ilford MG RC paper, I use Ilford MG developer. I dilute the developer weaker at 1+18 to increase the overall time which allows me to develop by inspection under the red light.

For contact printing, can I use the same diluted developer or am I better to mix a fresh batch at 1+9 as stated on the bottle.
