Critique My Images ?

You made a comment on the mid-tones and development. Something like "round and round" As it's now gone, someone else may have a better memory. The image in question, a panorama with a waterfall in the centre, was mostly very dark on all my screens.
Can't see how you can be blamed in any way. Nobody else has been able to identify the offending phrase.

Oh, yes, now I recall. There was a generally very nice image that others had commented seemed printed fairly dark. My additional comment was that the midtones seemed not to be spaced the way I'd expect with extended development. To take that as a personal assault of any kind seems .... (many words come to mind here) ... unjustified.

Oh well, I abjectly apologise for an infraction I do not understand ...

I wouldn't worry about this. You weren't being offensive. Nobody else was either.....

Think of it as gaining a radio button, not as losing a member.
I wish I could say that it's a lesson learned, and perhaps it is, if only I could see it.

I do hope it doesn't lead to more tinkering with the forum.

I am put in mind of a new member who joined some months ago by announcing that they had done so to get away from the inflammatory, mean spirited, and boorish (my words, not their exact statement) behaviours found in other such forums, particularly in the US. This individual then proceeded to find offence at every turn and themselves somewhat belligerent. They seem now to have disappeared entirely.

People are strange ...

EDIT: I am a dual citizen of both the US and a Commowealth country. I see no particularly greater bias for boorishness in any of the above. People are about the same everywhere with a similar distribution of virtues and vices.

There were valid questions to be asked, you don't post photos or comments on a Forum if you can't accept some degree of criticism or disagreement.

But there was also a secondary issue with the choice of film and whether it was then a print or scan problem or perhapps Monitor Gamma issues.. If you shoot with contrasty X-ray film then few of us can advise on the best way to get good results, if you shoot with Foma films we can :D and will :) That doesn't mean shoot like we do rather control the films to get the best of what you want out of them. Personally I get similar results from Fomapan 100 & 200 as I did with APX100 and Tmax 100, before switching to Delta 100, 400, and HP5. However that's by honing EI & dev times.

Our resident cloth cap hairdresser (Adminn) has been down to visit me in the past he'd not be able to say what films I'd shot/used from images on my walls. It's about control get your negative right and they are easy to print. So there's prints from Delt100 & 400 as well as HP5 . and also Fomapan 100 & 200, oh and Fortepan 200.

It's only the end results that count.

One of the surprises on joining this forum is that everybody knows more than you do, and about things you didn’t even know existed. It can be a shock.

Just done this, happy for all to critique my photos as soon as I put some up
