Oh and some contact prints, I just need to cut some glass for the appropriate size contact printing frame.

And then there's the 20x16 Kodak Elite, and my large stock of Multigrade Warmtone.

I have a project I'm printing 7"x5" on RC paper, temporary title is the day I lost my Wista. I'd been shooting MF for a few hours when my friend said where's your Wista, it was still setup on its tripod in a quarry, however there was no-one else around.

I just got a box of 8x13 Kodak Bromide Airmail Paper. It is the thinnest photo paper I have ever seen but liths beautifully. The date could be any where from 1947 to 1960, it says it was tested in 1964. Glad you found the Wista!

Interesting to see those multigrade filters. Are they faded at all?

No the filters are fine. The paper appears to be 3rd generation, I have other older filter sets, originally the Magenta was soft, Yellow Hard.

My experience with old Bromide papers is unless poorly stored they are still capable of a good Dmax, drop speed and grade a little, no base fog.

It really does work beautifully well. Love the old Bromesku and Bromide stuff too. Find it difficult to find much above 5x7 in size though. I have not tried normal developer as i am keeping this for Lith work as i absolutely love the look with it. It is so delicate, seems like 70 gsm ish.

Glad you found the Wista!

That was the last time I shot using a120 6x4.5cm camera. I'd already realised I often needed movements, I'd been using an unwieldy De Vere monorail for around 10 years for work, so had bought my Wista.

It was a long walk, a heavy back-pack, a remote Welsh bay. Because by then I'd begun mainly shooting 5x4 landscapes I made every 6x4,5 frame work. I printed a hand made book of the first images maybe 1987, then a long gap before did some prints of the next images maybe 3 or 4 years ago, and then realised I hadn't even really begun output of the whole day's shoot. I had a planned exhibition, gallery booked back in the late 80s, then I was offered a much larger funded exhibition, I couldn't do both, while working full time.

After that experience I bought a 6x9 back for my Wista, and with AP/APX25 120 negatives are comparable to 5x4.

Other projects and exhibitions meant I forgot, or rather neglected, this particular day's images. So how did I lose my Wista, I was so engrossed in making images, I just forgot it. I guess I only had 12 sheets of 5x4, I shot around 20 rolls of 120 APX100.

This is a big project. Well over a hundred prints, possibly 200+.

Ian.
