My first ever (successful) large format photo.

Ok it isn't the most riveting of subjects but it was taken to see if I'd managed to get the camera working without any light leaks etc.
handheld scan using iPhone 6 - 90mm f8 lens with UV/IR cut filter, 1/30sec at f 11 Fomapan 100 film 2007 developed in Ilford PQ Universal 1:29 for 4 mins.
learning curve - Move the camera to the front end of the rail, fit a heavy dark focussing cloth when it is windy, don't stick your thumb over the lens use a cable release, you don't need to add a stop for 15 year old Fomapan 100. Oh yes - remember to do a wash before developing to remove the anti halation dye so it doesn't colour all of your chemicals.
I'm quite pleased with the result for a first attempt.

Well done. So many lessons learned from one shot. If you keep this up, you'll know more than Saint Ansel in a few weeks.

It might be worth investing in a shorter rail. Operating the camera with the rail poking into your sternum can be uncomfortable and you can’t get close to the ground glass.

I thought about that then bought the intrepid instead I doubt I can find a rail for the Calumet over here - there doesn't apear to be many in the country and the cost of "bits" from abroad can't be justified against the cost of the intrepid in my book. It will be nice to have something easier to transport and manage when it arrives
