Maybe the start of a series.

Yasica-Yashinon 127mm f4.7 (Polaroid) lens, EFKE Pl25 at 50EI Pyrocat HD. Will be making a print or two on Ilford Warmtone FB.

This poppy was growing in a pot used for last years Geraniums, and I took the plant out 3 weks ago just before it flowered, I just stuck it in the garden expecting it would die so was surprised when it flowered 3 days later, but it looks wondeful at its death :)

I've kept some of the remains of last years poppiesm and there's more coming through. I've been playing with various FL lenses with my Wista 45DX, also with my RF 6x9 backm and a Rolleiflex and Rolleinar II. I had thought maybe my Nikon 240mm W lens but the Witsa has insufficient entesnion, I tried my 360mm Tele Xenar but can't focus close enough, a 210mm Symmar seems ideal but for closer work shorter would be better. I used the 127mm Yashinon because I bought it on Sunday and wanted to test it out. I also did a tst shot at a more normal distance to check edge/corner sharpness at f16

I should say that like many LF field cameras my Wista 45DX has double extension. Ive realised that my MPP MkIII or Mk VII cameras would be a far better option as they have Triple extension.

For those taht don't understandthe difference Double extension with a 5x4 camera means bellow extension that's double the standard focal length lens which is assumed to be 6"/150mm, so my Wista and most similar field camera have 300mm/12" bellows extension. The MPP's have 18"/450mm bellows extensiona s do the Linhof Technicas.

With 18"/450mm bellows extension a 240mm lens is practical as is the 360mm telephoto.
