Anyone interested in a weekend of photography in Ireland? The 2023 'Gathering' at Dungarvan, Co.Waterford, take's place 19-21 May. Dungarvan is on the Sunny East Coast (which means the rain is warmer!) near the Copper Coast Unesco GeoPark. A group of like minded film photographers get together and shoot film and have a Craic.

I'll figure out if the logistics work, at first glance cheap flights to Cork are at awkward times. It would be good to meet up again Paul.

Would be goodly indeed to meet up again Ian :) (I'm hoping Neil will announce another Dartmoor venture for 2024) If its any help, fly into Knock, (Ireland West Airport Knock) and travel with me. Or, Dublin. I can go a circuitous route and pick you up. Its a nice drive down the East coast.

I'm going to be announcing a West Midlands meet up fairly soon, before the end of the month for March/April. I'm just awaiting dates from events that might clash, as they ramp up hotel prices.

Flying Cork/Birmingham is only cheap on late flights, but there's no public transport to get home . . . . . . . . . I know from experience after my sister booked me a flight from Inverness to Birmingham, the taxi home was more that the two-way flights.

Where there's a will there's away. Now I'm pet free travelling is easier, a trip ti0 Ireland is in order. Just logistics.

Ian

Nearly booked flights but as they were every other day awkward didn't, now Flybe has ceased trading . . . . . . . .

Ian

Certainly a bit of a shock Flybe going to administration Ian. Were currently in Turkey getting ready to come home. The route should of been Turkey- Manchester-Knock, with Flybe on the last leg. But now got to take Mother in Law back to Cambridge, then fly from Stanstead using Ryanair. So a potential PIA avoided!
Cheers, Diz

The 'Gathering' at Dungarvan was a success. Friday saw people arriving, if early enough, a Horse Fair was on. Friday evening above the Enterprise Bar, there was a talk about prints made with my 5x4. A bring and buy and general meet new and old friends. Saturday saw a large format Portrait session. Then a wet plate collodion demonstration. Those not interested wandered down the copper coast for the day. Sunday was the dispersal after a late breakfast and goodbyes. A goodly weekend.
Cheers
