Damn ... there goes my 'Ilfotec Brotherhood' idea ... just when I'd worked out an initiation ceremony. Have to find another use for the five litres of Ambrosia rice pudding and the stuffed mongoose.Excellent stuff! No drama, no pentacle, no incantation required while mixing it. Just works. There’s not even a secret Ilfotec Brotherhood with special handshakes. And quite cheap too.
Only beaten by School Custard-tol - highly concentrated and lumpy!Ambrosia developer! The best ever. For all films, negative, trannie, whatever, the results are equally good. Lasts for ever in storage. Only drawback is the extended washing time, but you can have a snack while waiting.
Intriguing. Do say more ...And a standard processing time of three minutes in the microwave for all films.
The best thing about both is the saving in printing paper or scanning time that they give.
How about souping it in Oxtail or Minestrone? You simply immerse the film in custard, microwave for three and a half minutes, then remove the hot custard. All films treated this way give predictably perfect Zone Zero blacks, all over the image area. As all negatives yield the same image, there’s a great saving in film too, to say nothing of travel costs. One negative will do it all.
If you choose to exhibit your custard-based work, you will need to develop your creative writing skills. Another benefit.
Minestrone, despite its other excellent qualities, is rather grainy. Some might even say lumpy. Good for battlefield and street photography, perhaps? Is it the Rodinal of potable developers?
