long exposure with a change of plan

Evening all,

Thought I would share one of my recent images.

It was planned as a 2 hour exposure, capturing the stars and rotation.

I had to change the plan once the clouds started coming over, so ran around the tree a few times and posed a little with my camping lantern before giving in after around 20 minutes.

shot with a Schneider 75mm super angulon on my intrepid 4x5. Fompan 400 with rodinal 1-100 stand.

I liked the plan of a two hour exposure, that is a lot of reciprocity compensation I guess! I am currently shooting a long term project on time for an MFA in photography and intending similar very long exposures (even up to recording an entire 24 hours of the day).

Hi Dave, best of luck with it.

There are plenty of articles about online to help, not sure if the 24 hours would completely wipe the film due to the broad sunlight- worth a go.

Have you seen the solar cans?
