As I mentioned, that Ektar 127 is a really nice lens - tack sharp and contrasty...

Can you say a bit about how this was developed?
Sure. Very classical: I used Fomadon following manufacturer recommendations in a Spearman tank at 20°c, then Ilfostop solution and fixing using Fomafix for 5 minutes. I've then scanned the sheet using Espon v850.
I've moved now to HC-110 because I found it difficult to dissolve completely the Fomadon powder and I didn't like having remaining cristals.

The midtone separation in this image is really nice. I would imagine this to be something the digital process is helpful in extracting.
If I'm not being too much of a bother, could you please commend on the lighting conditions when this was taken and the ASA at which you exposed the film?
As an aside, I have used HC-110 and D-76 extensively as well as a fair bit of DK-50 over the years. These days, I tend to use Pyrocat-HD almost exclusively but I have also been tinkering with D-23. D-23 1:1 fascinates me because of the way it handles compensation and mid-tone expansion with very long development but it's still grainier than Pyrocat-HD. Given the way Kodak is pricing things these days, a "make your own" developer like D-23 or Pyrocat may be preferable. HC-110 is being priced at insane levels.

Ilford’s Ilfotec-HC is much the same as Kodak’s HC-110.
It’s used in the same way by diluting the syrupy original liquid to make a working stock solution, which is diluted further for its encounter with film.
I expect most members already know this, so this is just a reminder. It was certainly cheaper when I last bought some. As it lasts so well, this was some time ago.

It has been some time since I posted any of my images to the forum (I've been taking some time off due to a medical problem
(a 'stroke that put me in hospital, followed by a couple of months in a 'Rehab' center, enough to drive man 86 year 'old man' "Nuts'
But now I'm up and out with either of my LF cameras again and able to spend more time being "creative' rather than sit and watching day-time television.
After so many years as a "PRO' with the Government of Canada I now get to use the developer of MY own choice which has been Pyricat HD (mixed from 'Scratch' rather than trying to purchase in (as of to-day anyway). in the only small camera store in town (who can 'get it for me if I'm willing and able to wait two to three weeks for them to get it in for me (as long as I pay 'cash' on placing my order.
It is almost enough to send an old (and well educated) man back into hospital.

Well.. It took quite more time that I expected to be able (and allowed) to get out there and do what I like to do to pass the time... doing the 'first' part of what I like to do (now that I am retired and no longer having to work for living. After the "problem' of being somewhat held captive 'at home' with temperatures approaching the minus 20 to 30 degrees Celcius and trampling through 2 to 3 feet snow- banks and low temperatures (somewhat well into the minus degrees Celcius. All we can 'do' is make sure the sidewalk in the front of the house gets its snow removed within the 'allotted time frame' provided the city by-laws to keep the sidewalk in front of o property 'clear of as much snow as possible (or the city employees will come and do it for you. In the years we have lived in 'this' house we have managed to so do (and helped a couple of older neighbors who have some difficulty doing it for themselves.
My doctor indicates that I am becoming somewhat 'too old' to continue doing for 'fun and interest' than what I did for a living for so may years
I am more than just 'somewhat' happy to get out there whenever the weather 'allows' me to continue doing what I used to do for a living. even tho' the subject matter is completely different.
