This photograph is of the eastern internal wall of Selby Abbey.
I found the metering of this scene quite challenging due to the range of brightness values. I opted to use the Zone system metering technique by placing the dark areas of the lower right on Zone 3.
Having locked that value into the light meter, I took readings of various other parts of the scene, mainly concentrating on the stained glass window which registered +7 sops.
Although the scanner can pull back +1 stop, I decided not to risk it so I opted to develop 10% less of normal in Kodak Xtol which I am replenishing.
Camera: Chamonix 045N-2
Lens: 90mm (full rise)
Film: Kodak T-Max 100 rated at ISO 64
Developer: Kodak XTOL
