I have read online that some user's store part used chemicals in the fridge till the next film processing, has anybody on here done this and has experience on if it does help the longevity of the chemical's. I just squeeze as much air out as possible and give a squirt of lighter gas in to the bottle and store on the shelf in a dark cool place.

I have read mixed reactions to storing them in a fridge, personally I just keep them on the floor in the darkroom and have never had any issues

Definitely bot the fridge, you may crystallise out some of the chemicals.

I have never stored my chemistry chilled like this.

However, over the years, I have switched to storing almost everything in glass bottles rather than the more usual plastic containers. Most plastic bottles are semi-permeable to air and will not hold oxidation at bay, especially for developers. I've stored developer stock in partially full glass bottles for many months without issues.

Incidentally, my favorite source of 2 litre bottles is my local microbrewery. Of course, I am forced - against my will and with much complaining ;) - to buy several litres of fine beer. But, once consumed, the brown "growler" bottle needs only a good wash and a new polycone style cap for its new job in the darkroom. In fact, one of the local brewers sold me a few of these unused when I explained what I wanted, and the price was well below the other usual supplier prices.

If you are putting non-food items in the fridge, label them very, very clearly indeed. If there are children about, curb your economical instincts and store them in the darkroom.
