IF I were to chose I would probably pick the first image of the two of this model, but I LOVE that you don't ask or expect them to smile. The 'photoshoot smile' is often unnatural for young people, particularly young women. A slightly suspicious, appraising gaze is spot on!

Yes, I never ask for a smile. Actually I don’t really talk to the model. I just let them do what they want.

As always, your execution is flawless. Noting for a moment that I am a terrible portraitist so any observations I make should be listened to with great suspicion but ...

  1. This sort of portrait, to me, is a much more intimate and compelling look at the subject that the more distant view. I am drawn the face and eyes immediately to great effect.

  2. I don't know what to make of those hands. It feels like the image would improve with either more- or less hand visible but, to my eye, cutting down the middle is distracting.

These are nits. It's a beautiful image.

Regarding the hands... yes I agree. The problem is that I framed too tightly (actually you see 99% of the image, I just removed the black edges of the film holder), and took one shot only. So the only option is to crop.
Also, I'm a little concerned with the white spot on the nose...

Bright spots like that are especially difficult with darker skinned people since they stand out. The old pros used powder to tone it down.
