This version is a negative scan with the sepia tone added in Lightroom. I have also printed it in the darkroom and toned the print with sepia toner.
 
Not necessarily. He might have had a big tin of sepia paint, and a brush with a very long handle. And painted the sky, the lake and the trees sepia before taking the photograph, i.e. pre process....
Don't limit your options here.
He might own a Unicorn that can fart filter colours.
 
The other option is he printed the neg and the used a sepia toner before scanning the image.

Unicorn farts/big brush, either way, I like the picture.
 
You never know - he might. He is, after all, from Tyneside, where anything is possible....
OK, let's not put a downer on the OP's thread.
He's a nice guy and doesn't only post here, and I like his picture.

Admittedly my response may have seemed inane but I was interested to know.
