New large format films. Ilford Pan F and opticolour 200

I can't see Pan F listed. The colour film may be nicely priced but I don't think shipping from Germany and potential customs fees will make this affordable for us. Hope I'm wrong.
I think freestyle posted before ilford has officially announced. They had a post saying something big is coming. Hopefully this week uk sellers will start listing stock.

From Germany, you maybe right. Analogue wonderland hold the 120 format version so possibly they will stock it.

Ilford products are shipped to North America by sea, this can take 4-6 weeks, it's not the time it takes to cross the Atlantic, rather the time sat at the docks, and then customs. Ilford in recent years haven't officially announced new products until stock is in place in major countries they export to. I seem to remember Freestyle jumping the gun once before.

That is some interesting Information. I’m going to pick up a box when it’s available in uk.

I saw that Freestyle ad before it was removed, pointed to me by someone in an American discord, the price they quoted was 275 dollars for 25 sheets of 8x10

Put me down for a box of Pan-F. I never got along with it in 120 cos of some mottling (Ilford backing paper issue?) that ruined some shots, and the prospect of having a roll half-exposed in a camera for more than a few weeks having the latent image fade. However, all that goes out the window with 5x4" so I consider myself 'back in the Pan-F game'.

I was involved in importing silver recovery equipment from the US, you placed the shipping contract, in our case DHL, then waited at the dock until there was a full container going to a port of their choice, coming to the UK, then when here the speed of Customs. Sometimes shipments were quite quick, other times quite slow, and always totally unpredictable.

I find Pan F an interesting choice in 5x4 because we're hardly suffering from too much grain with FP4 and Delta 100. I was hoping for Kentmere in sheet film to give an alternate to Fomapan. Maybe that will come in the future.

It's not just an Ilford backing paper issue, it hit Foma & Kodak as well, (same supplier), and it was not the backing paper manufacturer at fault, rather changes by one of heir suppliers changing a component. And then the issues only showing up after a period of storage, years.

I think as a slow very-suited-to-tripod-use sort of film with less exposure latitude requiring careful metering it SHOULD be well suited to large format, and the fact that Pan-F has never been made in sheet form has always, to some extent, been a bit of an elephant in the room for Ilford/Harman. Imagine if Velvia 50 had never been made in sheet form....
