Here is another photo from one of the UKLFPG trips. Data for those interested is : Film Acros 100, Lens 180mm Nikon, 1s @ f/32 with an orange filter. Normal development.

Hi Helen,
Interested to see that this was taken on Acros 100. This is my favourite film, which I have previously used for MF. Since I acquired a 5x4 I can only find Acros in the UK priced at £4 per sheet! As this film suffers very little from reciprocity failure it is ideal for LF. Do you or anyone reading this know of a cheaper source in the UK or Europe?

Just checked with B&H and, even with shipping and import duties, etc, it works out at about £3 per sheet. I gather the discontinuation date is May 2018

Hi Joanna, I am making progress. I only enquired regarding Acros 100 and have ordered 5 boxes of 5x4 and 2 of 120. The 5x4 is about £30 per box but there also may be VAT & Duty to pay.
I have transfered the money using TransferWise but you can use Paypal if you pay an extra 4% and get a terrible exchange rate. He says he will order the film in the new year and I will give you an update when I receive it.

How much is the delivery cost?

I just checked on Japan Exposures and 5 boxes comes to around £274 shipped and duty/VAT paid.
I estimate the total from your supplier would be around £220 all in. The film price seems almost too cheap to be true. Which leads me to wonder what the "expiry" date is on the film you have sourced.
I think I'll wait and see what kind of date your film comes with before jumping.
But then I have just checked in the freezer and found that I've actually got 20 boxes of Quickload still untouched, plus a few more not in the freezer.
Out of interest, the other week, we developed 30 Acros negs, taken in 2010, kept in a box (not refrigerated or frozen) and only just discovered after moving here 18 months ago. We used Ilford DD-X developer from an unopened bottle, bought around the same time and still in perfect condition. The results were everything we would have expected from "new" film and developer.
Which just goes to show that film can be a lot more robust than the marketing people want us to believe with all their "expiry" dates

I have ordered quite a bit of Acros 100 and 1 box of 10x8 Velvia 50 (around $350US when I ordered it) from Kumar. He is a very reputable and up-standing guy and will send you fresh film. Last I knew he gets the film from Yodobashi and it's my understanding that they sell a LOT of film.
Regardless, if there is something amiss with your order Kumar will resolve it quickly.
