Curbar Edge, Peak District

Nice image, it's a magic, amazing, area. When I bought my Leica M3 in Manchester, and a week or so later a 50mm Summicron, from Harrisons, I was in Sheffield for work. I stopped at Millstone Edge and used my M3 for the first time, going on to Stanton Moor. I did go back with my LF camera.

As you follow the streams down from these old mill-stone quarries, there are remains of mill stones everywhere. Well worth a project, maybe spend 2 or 3 years . . . . . . .

I had thought of doing this myself in the late 1980s, but had funding for a larger project closer to home.

That's a glorious image - it ticks all my 'drama' boxes :)

I'm not a calm pastoral harmony guy ... I like grit and a bit of wide angle perspective ... skies that threaten a bit ... rocks that look properly rough ... the added salt of industrial detritus mixed with gorgeous landscape. A lovely palette of tones.
it Spaziergänge right up my Straße :)
