I have to take my Weimeraner (Gir) to the local dog run down by the river at the edge of town every day (and sometimes twice). He hunts for found 'treasures' at the river's edge... often 'sticks' but preferably river rocks... that he can carry home to add to his ever-growing 'stash'.

I decided to make a series of 'close-ups' of the contents of this ever-growing collection of his 'selected' items. I have a 'plant tray' partially filled with sand that I 'cover' with items from his collection... and photograph once or twice each month out in the back garden.. (I now have about 40 negatives 'dedicated' to his collected 'treasures')

Not sure I'd want to meet the dog that can carry home those rocks!! Reminds me of a German Shepard we had years ago who liked to play with full size cinder blocks.

I like the image, too.

The largest is about 4 x 5 inches... I'm not sure about his weight...but around 85 to 90 pounds (dry). He tends to drop the larger ones every 40 to 50 yards... looks around to see if my assistance might be 'offered' then, when it doesn't come, somewhat 'sad eyed'... he'll pick it up again and 'struggle on'. He's more than reluctant to get back into the car 'empty-mouthed'... and just as reluctant to get out of the car leaving his 'treasure' behind on the rear seat. Not sure how long its going to take me to 'build' him a rock garden.
