For me, it was look & feel, primarily contrast.I'm impressed. How did you guess, please ? Which aspect do you check to tell the difference ?
My impression is the with Fomapan, the shadows typically render darker, with a more sudden transition to detail-less black than Ilford films.I'm impressed. How did you guess, please ? Which aspect do you check to tell the difference ?
You'll have to test for yourself to see what works best. I typically expose Fomapan 100 at 64 ASA and often include a second sheet which gets another half stop more exposure. This is for development with either PMK or Thornton's Two Bath developers, both of which are known to result in slight loss of film speed. I sometimes use Xtol (or FX-55) and get similar results, exposing at 64 ASA.I was thinking of getting some Fomapan 100, so good to see it compared to FP4. I heard it is better exposed at 80. I'll probably be developing it with 510 Pyro.
