Grove Rake mine, Rookhopedale, Durham

Kevin, something odd seems to have happened to the textures in the second photograph - especially in the grass. ???

Your eyesight must be sharper than mine as I can't see it. The grass on the bank in front of the stream is out of focus.

However this was my first session trying digitisation with a DLSR, as my Epson V700 doesn't work any more, so anything is possible.

I've just had a look at the full size image in Lightroom and I can see that some longer tufts of grass are blurred. It was extremely windy and exposure was, if I remember correctly, 1/4s, so movement of the grasses in the wind may be the issue.

Nothing wrong with the first one. The textures in the building and the grass are really crisp.
And the building in the second one is a photographer's dream.
You've got a good project going there Kevin.
