Hello from Brugge, Belgium

Hi there, my wife and I have lived in Brugge, Belgium for over 30 years. Photography has been a passion since I was 16. Most of my recent work has been digital, you can see some pics of our city of Brugge on IG (@PentaxDudes), but lately I've been reverting and going old-school with glass plates, tintypes, and film in the larger Kodak cameras such as the 3A and 4A. With the help of a friend I recently restored a quarter plate camera as a gift for my wife's BD.

I find (probably too many) cameras at thrift stores, boot sales, and flea markets who just call out to me for help. Most of which are super hard to find parts for, but I guess that's all part of the fun.

I wish our UK thrift stores were as productive of nice old kit. I go to Finland a lot and the thrift stores and flea markets there have quite a lot of superannuated camera gear ... not so much in our own charity shops.
Still the odd bargain on Facebook Marketplace ... but by in large eBay is full of overpriced junk. I got my own Kodal 2D and Specialist 5x7 there for good prices - but only after months of trawling 'no bids' sales.

I visited Brugge many years ago, a nice place as I remember. It was before I started down the rabbit hole of vintage cameras so I wasn't camera browsing on that trip which is a bit of a shame.

Never been to Belgium, on my list of places to visit, I'm a big fan of Belgium beers particularly the lambic beers.
