Ideas on equipment for field trips ?

I have been thinking that a shooting stick might be handy as a seat at a valuable height, save the back on setups, anyone tried one and was it beneficial?

As "less is more", then a minimum of gear wil save your back, so no shooting stick (which needs to be hauled too) needed...
