The chance for sure exists! How big it is I do not know. And, yes, It is possible that the reason is this. By the way, I’ve noticed that the Toyo holders are way more easier to be loaded than the Lisco Regal holders. What is the chance that loading the film holder is user error?
Do you think film holder loading error could be the reason or cause of the light leaks?
The light leaks are on the upper side of the film. always ad the film notch, so not possible. And i am loading the film with the notch on the upper right sideI noticed quite a lot of wear on the black tape of your Toyo film holder, how does this wear compare to the black tape on your Lisco Regal holders?
Could the tape wear on the Toyo also be the reason for less resistance than the Lisco Regal?
Not light leak, why Toyo film holders are easier to load than his Lisco film holders. The light leaks are on the upper side of the film. always ad the film notch, so not possible. And i am loading the film with the notch on the upper right side
This point.I’ve noticed that the Toyo holders are way more easier to be loaded than the Lisco Regal holders.
There actually was caused by my second Linhof Master Technika Classic (2004). As ad the same moment I bought another 6 brand new Toyo holders from Sakai Instruments. And they rapidly had the same thing, But I do not think that this is an issue - only aesthetic .I noticed quite a lot of wear on the black tape of your Toyo film holder, how does this wear compare to the black tape on your Lisco Regal holders?
Could the tape wear on the Toyo also be the reason for less resistance than the Lisco Regal?
I still do not know why.Not light leak, why Toyo film holders are easier to load than his Lisco film holders.
Yes, the flaps are covering several milimeters of the film, where actually the leaks are...On most if not all modern plastic holders the flap end is mechanically light-trapped, so the state of the tape shouldn’t have any bearing on it, assuming the flap is held in position.
There is no such think. No way the dirt to accumulate for a week between selling the Arca and buying the Linhof. All my lens were attached since the begging on original Linhof lens boards. The lens a mounted on Prontor Professional with TK unit form Linhof.Have you looked at the lens?
A speck of dirt inside the glass?
Yes, I need to have look.A very small, (perhaps something worn or chipped) bright spot inside the camera, reflecting light onto the film?
Yes, I agree. I had Fidelity, Linhof, LIsco and Toyo holders. The best in my opinion are the Toyo holders. Never had or user Sinar holders. Unfortunatly Toyo closed doors at the end of January...The design of the film-holding rails in a DDS differs between manufacturers. ( ...square or rounded, tapered or straight, etc) I've found that you need to bend the film by different amounts for different makes, which seems to alter the force needed.
The intrepid are way more expensive than the Toyos. At least the price that I’ve paid direct from Japan. The Chamonix holder looks very very nice, but too expensive. The lens was always a long shot, but bits of paint do occasionally flake off.
I agree about Toyo holders. Didn’t know they had ceased production. Fortunately I have enough. Haven’t tried the new Intrepid ones.
I find the material is better quality. Inserting the sheets is way more easier. My last 6 DDs from Toyo have metal dark slide. Which I like and dislike. I like it because it is robust and I dislike because is can condense.Just interested here in why the newer Toyo holders are mythologised so much? Ive got one, a couple of older Toyos, and a mix of older Fidelity/Lisco plastic and metal handle models, in both very worn and like-new condition. By far my preference is for the bog standard plastic handled Fidelity ones.
