Minimum Required Amount When Making D23 ?

When I first made some D23 I mixed up 1L using 7.5g Metol and 100g of Sulfite

Would I be right in thinking that I can just 1/2 those quantities if I only want to mix up 500ml or does there have to be a minimum amount of Metol for the developer to work.

It's the same proportion if you mix half the quantity. There’s a minim quantity of developer needed per 80 sq inches of film it's at least 200ml for a 36xe 35mm, 120 or 4 5x4 or 1 10x8 negative.
