I wish to extend my- and my family's deepest condolences to you friends in the UK on the loss of your Queen. She was a woman of uncommon elegance, grace, common sense, and kindness. The world is poorer for her absence.

We must also remember the Queen as a photographer, she used a Rolleiflex, various Leica M series cameras, a Rollei 35, etc. In this respect she followed in Queen Victoria's footsteps she'd learnt the Wet Plate process and how to print from Julia Margaret Cameron.

As an aside, my newly married parents were in London at the time of her coronation in 1953...

Probably the most photographed woman in the world.
