Paterson Orbital Help Please.

I bought it just for 8X10 film although I had one many years ago for RA4 which I no longer do.
I hear talk of the film sticking to the base of the paterson but I'm not sure what the issue with this is.
You can stick some rubber bumpers that are used in kitchen doors to keep the film off the base and avoid the film sticking.

Ive heard some use blobs of epoxy glue to create the bumps, but the self-adhesive rubber ones are easier and cleaner.

I have 5 bumpers per 5x4 section (so 20 in all) and process both 5x4 and 5x7 without problems.

Different heights of bumps might account for different volumes needed.

One of mine already came with blobs of glue (likely UHU rather than an epoxy) on the base. I don’t think it’s necessary to be lifting the film up far enough to impact on developer quantities, you need need enough to stop the film sticking to the bottom by surface tension. People have achieved similar just by scoring very shallow groves into the base or simply by roughing up the surface with a Dremel or similar. It doesn’t take much.
