It was one of a number of images made one very foggy morning, when I told my girlfriend (also a photographer) laughed and said I'd got no chance, in fact I had a very successful day and used 3 images made that day used in a large exhibition set.
Almost all my images are shot to be part of a different series, this one stands well on it's own printed 20x16 or larger it really opens up, I've sold quite a few prints of it. Similar but different, I made a shot at Cwmystwyth of the of the mine and spoil it was shot with one of my 10x8 cameras, essentially a lot of grey rock spoil and some grass the feel of a print really changes as you go larger and the finer details become apparent. it's the same with this image.
