Question Self-Adhesive Silicone Pads placed at bottom of orbital Patterson tray.

hey people. Hope we are coping in this weather.

I’ve an orbital Patterson tray that I will be developing 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 film in. People use self-adhesive silicone pads at the bottom of tray to lift the sheets off film the bottom. What size do people use? I’m about to purchase some as I just got some 5x7 film but the many size options.

I used the small self-adhesive bump-stops that are normally used to stop kitchen drawers and doors banging shut.

I used 5 per 5x4 section (so 20 in total). I also roughed up the surface of the orbital where the bump stops were to be fitted.

If you have the red dividers, you can stick small tiddly-winks to the top of the dividers, this stops the film floating up and into another section during agitation.

Both of my Orbitals just have some random blobs of glue on the bottom, UHU etc. The moral of the story is you don't need much just to stop the film clinging to the bottom and get fluid flow underneath.
