I feel pain in my eyes. This photo shouldn't be b&w. You just killed the photo by taking away colors. Read some articles about b&w shots, for example on Nuderetouching website.
 
Always willing to learn, I looked up Nuderetouching. Not a great deal of architectural or night photography. Although there is a section on B+W retouching, I couldn't find any advice on the advantages of retaining colour, but it may be hidden somewhere. If you have forgotten what nice young ladies look like underneath their clothes, this is the site for you.

Nude, boudoir, glamour, male and female. A very high level of skill. Not quite my cup of tea, but interesting to see work outside the LF landscape ghetto.
It's true that the lighted buildings around the Thames are wonderful in colour, but they are also spectacular in monochrome. A tricky subject because of the extreme contrast.
