Hi I have been taking photographs for 40 years but a couple of years ago I bought at auction a big and very heavy 1870s process camera.which has a 10x8 back. I use old lenses without shutters and have fitted a Packard Vacuum shutter. To be more mobile I have bought a 5x4 Graflex with a built in focal plane shutter which takes my brass lenses.Heres the thing has anyone removed this type of shutter to fit behind the lens on their large camera, a Packard is ok for about 1/30th or slower, but how to get a faster/more controlled speed. My lenses are up to 5 inches in diameter.
