Oriel Street, Oxford. Early morning June 2024.
Ilford FP100. Pyrocat HD developer ( thanks Ian! )
Sanderson quarter plate ‘Hand and Stand’ camera, Ross 6” ‘Homocentric’ (!?) 1:6.3 lens. LOTS of rise to keeps those verticals parallel.
Can’t find my notes right now, probably 1/25 sec at f/22
Printed at Oxford Darkrooms ( thanks Rob! ) on 9x12 Ilford MGRC
.
My favourite from a series of early morning excursions into town last summer. I can carry this little camera on my bike with a tripod and all the rest, so it has become a favourite. Earlier this lens seemed uninteresting but with a low light angle, it brings the textures to life.
I enjoy these larger prints but they won’t fit on my scanner so this is a Google scan; that’s why it has a strange curve on the bottom margin. The scan is a good match for the print with no adjustments beyond squaring up the corners.
.
Not quite 5x4 (sorry Ian) so I hope I can squeeze this one under the wire ;).
