I had the pleasure of Ian's company today and he asked for some darkroom help/guidance with printing so I said lets go make a print, after a sandwich

It's not a negative I've ever printed before and was chosen by chance.
First print was on Adox MCP RC Matt paper, so two or three test strips, first sort of messed up as I forgot to switch in the filtration, but that was still good enough to be closer on the second and perfect on the third. A very good but to me bland neutral tone print. I did a little dodging and burning.
As it's an image that really works for a project I've been working on I said I'll do a FB print on Forte Polywarmtone, 1st test strip was way under a paper about 1/4 the speed, ao I opened the enlarger lens a atop and increased the time and gave a base exposure of 24 seconds then steps of 4 seconds.
Final exposure was 28 seconds but I dodged the engine etc a bit, burnt in the top foliage slightly and the track area.
Ian had been worried seeing the white bit of track in the negative bottom right, but I said no that's an asset, it's dark in the print.
Now the Adox print is very neutral, the Polywarmtone print is very warm toned in colour, and Ian can confirm the difference matches the tones of the image I've posted
