Whitby

The bets I can say is probably not, depending on what you would call recent. I have a terrible memory for dates of photos, and would usually hesitate to give a date unless there was something that I could recall that would date it. I can recall all the circumstances of that particular visit to Whitby (including another 5x4 from the same day), but not when it was. If I said within the last five years (probably) that's about the best I can do.

I can't even date using my filing system, because the negatives are numbered as they were scanned, not taken; and my very first large format frames come in at around 100 in the scanning order. I can recall it was taken using the Wista, but I can't even remember when I bought that!

Edit to add:
On checking back old holiday photos, I can see that I wasn't using the Wista in 2008, so the photo must be 2009 or later.

I can recall getting it on a visit to Robert White's for one of their open days at their premises, rather than one off site; and I also got a CombiPlan tank from their bargains bin for £5 at the same time. As to when - no idea. I can recall what happened to it though :D.

Now, if you were to ask me what I got as presents for my third birthday, you'd be in luck (picture dictionary, concertina and train) as I can remember that far back.

If I could definitely recall any colour photos taken at the same time, it would be easier, because I get a lab to process my colour (there's not much of it) and they date the contact sheets.

One of the problems of dating photos like this is that we have often gone to Yorkshire for either my or Sue's birthday; and weather permitting a trip to Whitby is made, as we stay in York. This means that almost any year we could be in Whitby at some time; but this photo couldn't have been made on one of these trips as I can recall it being warm and sunny, making it the wrong time of year.
